Hilton Head Island History Day. Saturday, October 14th, 2017 Hilton Head Island History Day offers two unique ways to witness the island’s history. Docent-led Bike tours and docent-led trolley tours offer four guided morning and afternoon explorations of the island’s military history, its role in the Civil War, and its historical dedication to preserving its waterways and agriculture. End your day at Hudson's Seafood on the Docks between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00pm for a Lowcountry Boil and a performance by the legendary Mt. Calvary Inspirational Dancers. Bike and Trolley tours are rain or shine Melly Mel's will be on-site at Coastal Discovery Museum from 11:30am to 2:00pm serving up delicious BBQ and more for an additional price No refunds Detailed instructions for the bike tours will be sent with confirmation See below for tour specifics. The CF Cycle for Life is a one-day tour benefiting the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Participants have the choice of a 30 mile, 65 mile, or 100 mile route. The bike tour is fully supported with stocked rest stops every 10-12 miles, support and gear (SAG) vehicles, on-site medical services, and much more. This unique event empowers participants to take action and demonstrate their fight in finding a cure for cystic fibrosis in an emotional and experientially powerful way. Riders ages 16 and up may participate. This event is for all riders from beginners to advanced who are looking for a unique cycling experience.

Welcome to one of the most unique bicycling festivals in the USA!

Coming up is our 20th annual FestiVELO Ride, taking place November 8-12, 2017, out ofWalterboro, SC. You have never experienced a more exciting and activity-filled bike event than Festivelo!

Our annual four-day event offers you your choice of morning rides in the area: 20-35 miles, 55-65 miles, or 95-105 mile routes ? to suit your ambition and skill level. ? You will enjoy delicious food: breakfast and hot meals at your lunch rest stops each day, and when you return to home base in Walterboro in the afternoons, we have more food and festivities for you: themed dinners, drinks, activities and entertainment planned for you to celebrate your riding accomplishments.

This year, we have made improvements based upon your feedback on the surveys, e-mails, and phone calls. The major improvements include:

-The rides will start and finish from the Museum! -More restroom facilities on the routes! -The routes have been updated to avoid as much traffic as possible! -There will be beer, soda, sports drinks, water, and a variety of snacks at the museum when you return from your ride -Additional Tent and RV parking this year.

Also, please note we have changed the registration process to make it easier. Starting today, April 1st till May 29th, Only 4 and 3 day packages are available. Starting May 30th, the daily rider registration is available. Please see our website to see what is included in the 4 and 3 day packages. If you select the 3 or 4 day ride package only without the meals and other items, you can Login May 30th and add meals and special events such as Craft Beer Night, Chocolate Extravaganza, the oyster roast, Wonderful Wine Wednesday wine tasting.

RV and Tent lots: This year we have 60 tent sites available and 20 RV sites provided by the Colleton County Parks and Recreation Department. The tent sites are 40 dollars for all 4 days and the RV sites are 80 Dollars for all 4 days. The tent and RV sites are not sold for individual days. So if you purchase a site during our registration process, you have it for all 4 days.

...it's approximately 10,000 participants riding across the state of Iowa every July for the past 42 years...it's referred to as the ultimate state ride. Last year, the ride was 467 miles long (64.7 miles per day)...most riders camp in tents. Contact Ron Knight for more details.

The Assaults on Mt Mitchell and Marion - Freewheelers of Spartanburg

Take the challenge! Join us for one of the most intense, premier cycling experiences in the Southeast, riding from downtown Spartanburg, SC to either Marion, NC or Mt. Mitchell, the highest peak in the East. The Assaults on Mt. Mitchell and Marion draw more than 1,300 cyclists each year, with proceeds funding bicycle safety and educational programming for cyclists of all ages.

The ride is hosted by The Freewheelers, a Spartanburg, SC-based non-profit founded in 1973 with a mission to provide education and promotion of bicycle safety and forum for amateur sports competition and tutoring.
