Each ride has an A, B, C ride classification. See the Ride Classifications page to determine which ride is best for you. Call for Ride Leaders! Contact Steve Alfred at president@kickinasphalt.info.

RSVP Policy - In fairness to our Ride Leaders we are instituting an RSVP request for rides outside the HHI/Bluffton area.  Simply reply "yes" if you are coming to the ride.  If there are no responses by 7:00 am Saturday, the Ride Director will cancel the ride so the Ride Leader will not head out unnecessarily. Thank you for your cooperation.

Inclement Weather Notification Procedure - When the weather looks bad, the Ride Director will consult with the Ride Leader that morning before 7 AM.  If we decide to cancel the ride, a ride cancellation notice 2 hours before the ride start.  This will normally be 7 AM.  If there is no announcement, the ride is on.  Our overriding concern will always be ride safety.

Every Saturday

NOTE: START TIME is 9:00 a.m. through November, unless otherwise noted

Please be advised that PEDAL HILTON HEAD ISLAND 2017 has been rescheduled to Sunday, November 19th!

September 22 - 24, 2017

Because of the closure of a bridge to Amelia Island and uncertainty as to the status of the roads and pathways, we have decided to cancel the ride scheduled for this weekend. We will try to reschedule it for either November 3-5 or December 8-10.

Under the leadership of Terry Herron, we are planning a great weekend trip for Club members to Amelia Island, Florida, with motel stays on Friday and Saturday nights, September 22 and 23, and rides on Saturday and Sunday. Further details will be forthcoming.

Motel reservations should be made now, as this is still a popular travel time and rooms are filling up quickly.

We have designated two motels for our group:
Comfort Inn Oceanview, 2801 Atlantic Ave. 904/261-0193.
Hampton Inn Historic Harbor Front, 19 S.2nd St. 904/491-4911.

Terry plans to stay at the Comfort Inn and I will be at Hampton Inn, near where our group dinners will be held on Friday and Saturday in downtown Fernandina Beach.

With an AARP or AAA card, the rates are as follows:
    Comfort Inn: $108/night - 2 queen beds
                        $117 - king bed.
    Hampton Inn: $144/night - 2 queen beds.
    Taxes are additional.

You may make motel arrangements in either of two ways:
    1. Call the motel directly.
    2. Use one of the rooms that I reserved for our group. I am holding 5 rooms at the Comfort Inn and 3 at the Hampton Inn. If you want one of these rooms, please let me know promptly and then provide me with a check for the full amount, which I will hold until 3 pm on Tuesday, Sept. 19, before depositing it in case you need to cancel.

Please let both Terry and me know of your plans to join us:
Terry: terry@herron-group.com
Steve: sjalfred11@aol.com

Also, let us know if you have any questions.
    Terry: 843/271-9919
    Steve: 309/693-6969

Many of us remember the weekend trip to St. Simons & Jekyll Islands in November 2015 and what an incredible time everyone had. We're hoping to repeat that on Amelia Island, which is about 165 miles south off I-95, or a 2-3/4 hour drive.

We hope you'll join us!
